My name is Ella Solberg, and I work as a weaver in my hometown Bergen, Norway. I moved to Denmark when I was 19, and have taken a bachelor-degree in Textile Design at the Kolding School Of Design from 2021 to 2024. During my bachelor, I were also in internship with weaver Maria Sigma in Athens, were I learned a lot about weaving-techniques, and how to create a living out of an endangered craft.

After my bachelor, I was lucky to ba a part of the “Homofaber Fellowship” - program of 2024/2025, and went back to Maria in Athens to learn more about weaving.

In my work, I focus on the combination of materials and colours, and what their potential can create in a collaboration with me as a designer. I only work with natural materials, as it is extremely important to always have the nature in mind when I am creating. Nature is a big inspiration for me, and a source of creation to all of my projects.
